Why did the Efrat Association establish EmaPedia?
The Efrat Association has been active for nearly five decades and operates with a deep commitment to providing women with true freedom of choice when facing an unplanned pregnancy. Over the years, we have met thousands of women who shared how a lack of knowledge, partial information, or common myths influenced their decisions. Time and again, we discovered that pregnant women stand at a complex crossroads, overwhelmed by social, family, or financial pressures – and in the midst of all this, they often lack an organized, accessible, and reliable source of information.
Out of this need, the idea of EmaPedia was born – a digital content platform that brings together clear and comprehensive information on topics related to pregnancy, childbirth, parenting, women’s and children’s health, and social and economic rights. Our vision was to build an “encyclopedia for mothers” – a place where every woman can find answers to her questions, gain practical tools, and feel that she is not alone on her journey.
Strengthening the Right to Choose
One of Efrat’s primary goals is to give women the ability to truly choose. Free choice cannot exist when information is incomplete or when decisions are made under pressure and uncertainty. For this reason, EmaPedia is not just another informational website, but a social tool that enables women to explore all aspects – medical, emotional, legal, and social – related to pregnancy. In this way, every woman can make decisions equipped with knowledge, not only emotions or external pressures.
Accessible, Simple Language
One of the biggest challenges in medical and social content is complex language. Many women struggle to understand medical or legal terminology. Therefore, special emphasis was placed on using simple, clear, and friendly language that every woman can easily understand. We believe that accessible information equals real freedom – and when information is complicated, it remains out of reach for most women.
Collaboration with Field Experts
The creation of EmaPedia involved collaboration with leading professionals from diverse fields. Each contributed their experience and professional perspective to ensure that the platform offers reliable, up-to-date, and evidence-based knowledge – it is important to emphasize that the information is the responsibility of the experts and not the responsibility of Efrat.
It is important to remember that many topics have multiple approaches and methods of care, and each viewer should choose the path that best suits her.User Experience
The platform was designed in an intuitive, colorful, and welcoming way, so that both younger and older women feel comfortable using it. Content includes short TED-style lectures, Q&A sessions, and podcasts. The idea is not only to read – but to experience a personal learning journey.
Meeting a Growing Need
In today’s modern world, women first look for answers online. Search engines are filled with countless information sources. EmaPedia was created to serve as another trusted resource, presented by experts in the fields women choose to explore. When a woman enters EmaPedia, she knows she is accessing a source of knowledge that respects her wisdom, her independence, and her right to choose.
Empowerment, Not Judgment
Efrat’s guiding principle has always been not to judge, but to support. EmaPedia continues this approach by placing the woman at the center. We do not tell her what she should do, but instead provide her with all the tools to understand, ask questions, and choose her own path. We believe that when a woman receives information – about her body, her baby, and her economic and social options – she can make decisions from a place of strength rather than weakness.
Connecting to Community and Practical Support
EmaPedia does not stand alone. It serves as the gateway to Efrat’s broader support network – assistance packages, emotional guidance, employment programs, and a supportive women’s community. This way, every woman who accesses digital information can, with the click of a button, also receive real, practical help close to home.
